According to the 2023 Bacardi Cocktail Trends report, people are seeking out new experiences and flavours when it comes to where and what they’re interested in drinking. Bold flavours, a hint of nostalgia and a return to sweet and juicy cocktails are some of the trends that the world’s largest privately held spirits company are seeing emerge this year.
Three of Bermuda’s mixologists, who continue to push the local drinks trends created their takes for us.
First up, Vernon Pemberton, Bacardi’s Brand ambassador created a light and refreshing take on the popular spritz drinks with a Bermuda twist.
“Spritz drinks have become trendy for a variety of reasons,” he explains. “Firstly, they are light and refreshing, making them a great option for warm weather and outdoor events.”
He adds: “Spritzes are also easy to customize with different ingredients, such as fruit juices and herbal infusions, which allows for endless flavour combinations. Spritz drinks provide a sophisticated yet approachable drinking experience that appeals to a wide range of tastes and preferences.”
