The transition from day to night after a long day or week at work gets a little better at the many happy hour spots where you can savour a speciality drink and snacks as well as the chill vibes as the summer heats up.
We’ve rounded up the best spots to spend some time relaxing into the evening at the island’s best happy hour spots.
SEABREEZE LOUNGE AT LIDO COMPLEX
With fabulous views and a happy hour almost every night of the week (every day except Mondays) the Seabreeze Lounge, just steps off of Elbow Beach, is the perfect spot for tempting drinks as the sun goes down or to indulge in freshly prepared sushi or light bites.
Summer happy hour at Seabreeze runs from Tuesday to Sunday between 5pm – 7.30pm with bar snacks and specially priced wine, beer and spirits available. Stay on into the evenings on Thursday and Friday to enjoy music from local acts including Kassie Caines and DJ Felix.
BREW
Once you’ve had your caffeine fix, head back to Brew and grab a seat at the perfect spot for people-watching on Front Street as the sun goes down. Brew’s happy hour offers a great option for a quick after-work drink and snack during the week, whether you want to grab a glass of wine, sample one of the Dockyard Brewing Co.’s draughts or enjoy some Swizzle on tap all while savouring a bowl of their famous guacamole. Happy hour at Brew runs from Monday to Friday from 4-7pm
HUCKLEBERRY
Set in a lush garden just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Front Street, Huckleberry has created an exclusive enclave perfect for relaxing after a long work week. Every Thursday and Friday, enjoy light bites that also includes inventive sweet treats from the award-winning kitchen paired with the bar’s craft cocktails – some of which can be shared and enjoyed in one litre carafes.
Huckleberry’s Happy Hour runs from 5.30 – 10pm Thursday and Fridays with music by DJ Felix every Thursday.
DÉJÀ VIEW
Fast becoming one of the most popular spots for after work happy hour on a Friday night, Déjà View opened in Barr’s Bay Park earlier this year, and the laidback, chilled vibe of a park happy hour spot is already luring crowds. While their sister restaurant, Misaki, is known for killer sushi, there is also a sushi menu to sample from here, as well as their extensive inventive menu. Along with great food and drink specials there’s also great music from local DJs including Nadanja to set the mood right.
Happy Hour at Déjà View is on Friday nights from 4.30-7.30pm.
MARINA NIGHTS AT 1609 BAR & RESTAURANT
The longstanding happy hour at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club is still one of the best ambiances to kick off the weekend. Right on the water’s edge overlooking Hamilton Harbour, the Friday night happy hour has proven time and time again why it’s a great place to enjoy a cocktail and a catch up with friends after a long work week. Whether indulging in one of the tequila-laced creative cocktails or tasting a selection of Latin-inspired bites from the asador, it’s the perfect place to get the party started. Marina Nights runs every Friday (excluding the Friday of Cup Match) from 5-10pm and features a line up of local DJs.
